Our Story

Primavera means Springtime, and is an ode to beauty and growth. Our founders are Gemma Glasser and Cole Russert, who met one fateful spring day on Orcas Island. They have since planted roots on-island, sharing their love of travel and gardens. They founded Primavera in May 2024 as a lifestyle boutique dedicated to celebrating the special moments in life. 

Gemma is a third generation artist & designer, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother. She earned a BFA in Integrated Design from Parsons School of Design, before becoming a GIA Graduate Gemologist in 2018. She dedicated over 15 years working as a fine jewelry professional before launching her own atelier in 2020, and co-founding Primavera in 2024. Her philosophy is dedicated to holistic design, creating memorable jewels or environments meant to last a lifetime. 

Cole comes from a strong entrepreneurial background, focused in business development. He earned a BSBA in Finance from University of Denver and worked in the beverage & fine wine world, and in excavation & tree management before co- founding Primavera. He is a lifelong traveler, surfer, and skier with a passion for our natural environment, creating thoughtful landscape designs that feature cacti & succulent plants whenever possible.
